    THE NEW FACEBOOK LAYOUT

    Posted by: noreply@blogger.com (PRINCE)

Users of social networking site Facebook may have noticed some users utilizing the new Facebook profile layout. We spoke to some members of our network to see what they thought of the new design:

While most comments were overwhelmingly negative, it is often the case with many social networking sites that users are reluctant to accept change, but then forget quite quickly.
I like this button on the Vimeo site, that says 'I hate change', revealing that Vimeo is aware that some users are reluctant to change.

A Quick Word With Nahum [Madrid]

    Posted by: noreply@blogger.com (ItsTheLeak)

Sweeney and I went to Madrid a few months back, to have a bit of fun and to see what the craic is generally. Nahum was one of the good people helping us out and showing us around the city, here's a little introduction to him.

Hey Nahum, how long have you been living in Madrid?

I was born right here in Madrid, so basically almost all my life. A lot of years now...

You run Mistas Clothing full time? How did that start ?

It all started in 1997, a long time ago... it was a natural process I didn't say "I'm going to start a streetwear brand... it all started like a game..." It's curious but the first Mista's item was a complement, exactly the flexibelt, it was like the classic nylon belt with metal buckle but with secret components that make them real comfortable ... ahaha....

Since 1997 sometimes I run Mista's Clothing full time and sometimes part time, it depend on the season but really I'm always thinking or makin moves for Mista's all day every day.

In London the Home Grown Streetwear / Clothing scene is quite small
yet growing, whats going on in Madrid?

Exactly the same situation right here in Madrid, even a much smaller scene. I mean London is one of the most influential cities all over the world so you on top but it's true that most of the big brands out there come from New York city , L.A. or Tokyo.

When I started Mista's it was not really serious brands maybe one or two, but i can't remember... but nowadays the Madrid street wear scene is growing up a little bit, there is a few brands that we know and all meet each other. I really like to support our local scene.

You're friends that we met when Jamie and I came to Madrid were involved in a skateboard magazine and others owned a skate park and shop. Cool friends you've got there, that must mean you run into a lot of young people.

It is a skateboarding magazine "GOMAG"....

Yeah, we are in touch with all street underground movements I mean music, art, extreme sports... like skateboarding or fixed gear and bmx bikes, hip hop artists, dj's... and of course young people and not so young peolple are deeply into it.

Have you noticed any particular trends among the young people you
met, such as phone choices, transport choices, or even attitudes?

Yes, they have got too much facebook and internet information and now they all listen to rap music, well all kinds of music, but i think specially rap, and they wear a lot of vulcanized sole sneakers, everybody is spending a lot of their money (or parents money) in Iphones or Berrys. Lately i have seen a lot of bikes around the city, but all kinds of bikes not just fixed...

Is there anyone or a collective that we should be on the look out
for from Madrid, who are on the rise?

Well, it seems that today a lot people in Madrid are making moves, just starting new projects of all kinds, just bikeparks, skateparks, art exhibitions like VAVA Gallery, people throwing underground partys, printing t-shirts.... new people, new ideas.

    [VAVA Gallery]

Being part of the Madrid Graffiti scene must be very
    interesting,do you write much?

Yeah Madrid writting scene it's huge particular. Now the law it's real hard with elevated penalizations so we do just what we can...

Here's few sites Nahum recommended to check out ...

    Raves

    2. On Friday went to the gym, when I finished in the gym I went back to Andover I started looking around and I never saw anyone so I called one of my friends and was like “where are you” and he told me he was in platform so I went there and when I walked in I saw a load of girls and boys and I saw all my boys in corner, there was a talent show going on and when I looked around I saw old friends that I have not seen in a long time, that made me happy.

    3. Every Saturday Platform play a movie that I love to watch and this week that film was 8 Mile. Platform is a youth Hub for young people to come and do loads of things like record music, watch movies and learn new things.

    Rants

    1. I never got to play football this weekend, or train because I was busy this weekend. I normally train with my friend Lawrence on Saturday and Sunday morning but we were both busy so it never happened.

    2. Hated when my sister woke me up at about 11 on a Sunday morning to go Holloway to buy her head & shoulders.

    3. Hated when I got angry at my friend and I was going to fight him.
